Dr. Schneider has received the best and most rigorous training in both clinical and forensic psychology. She completed a double emphasis Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and Psychology, Policy, & Law at the University of Arizona. She then fulfilled an internship in Clinical Psychology at the Veteran’s Affairs Healthcare system in Connecticut where she treated service men and women with a range of physical and mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationships, and personality disorders. Dr. Schneider then accepted a post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Psychology at Yale University’s School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry. After Yale, Dr. Schneider went on to pursue an additional post-doctoral fellowship in Forensic Psychology at one of the country’s foremost forensic psychology training programs: The University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Program in Law and Psychiatry. This specialized year focused solely on mastering forensic assessment including evaluations of competence to proceed, criminal responsibility, civil commitment/violence risk, aid to sentencing, commitment of substance abusers, and prisoners in need of treatment as well as substantial court testimony experience.

Since completing her training, Dr. Schneider has gone on to start her own private practice (Colorado Clinical & Forensic Psychology, P.C.) and has treated numerous clients with a variety of mental health issues. She has also evaluated a range of defendants both for the court as well as for public and private attorneys. She has appeared in court to provide testimony dozens of times and her opinions have consistently been taken into consideration by the courts. She has also authored a number of publications in peer reviewed journals, made numerous presentations, has taught university level courses, and her research has won awards. She is the current Chair of the Forensic Task Force for the Colorado Psychological Association.

Additionally, she is a member of Colorado’s panel of experts qualified to conduct court ordered competence to proceed sanity and mental conditions evaluations. Dr. Schneider is a member of the American Psychological Association, Colorado Psychological Association, and the American Psychology-Law Society.
